The Beloit Historical Society is proud to announce the publication of Century of a City, a photographic history of 20th Century Beloit. Produced by a committee of accomplished photographers and editorial and graphics professionals, this 120-page book will be a wonderful keepsake of the century that Beloit became a center of world-class manufacturing, thriving commerce, educational excellence, and cultural sophistication.
Century of a City tells the story of its community through photographs of people, street scenes, structures both here and gone, and a diversity of pursuits, from education to business to recreation.
The photographs have been carefully chosen from the archives of the Beloit Historical Society and Beloit College, and from the personal portfolios of gifted local photographers, such as the late Stuart D. Klinger.
